The Roman Baths by Torchlight
Relax and enjoy the romantic torchlit ambience of the Great Bath and avoid the crowds by visiting on a summer evening. The site and shop are open until 10.00pm every evening in July and August (last admission 9.00pm). As darkness falls, the ruins of this vast Roman building are an awesome sight. By the light of flickering torches, you can walk on 2000 year old pavements, providing a truly magical atmosphere. With its steaming waters and Roman artefacts this is an unforgettable and unique experience.

Lions of Bath
A giant pride of 100 individually decorated, life-size lion sculptures, will be taking up residence in and around the World Heritage City of Bath from May to October 2010 in a unique cultural event to raise funds for local charities and bring a smile to the faces of residents and visitors alike. The lion sculptures, sponsored by businesses, local communities and individuals, will be decorated by artists and craftspeople using their skill and imagination to produce eye-catching artworks from the beautiful to the bizarre. At the end of the summer all of the lions will be auctioned for charity to end their days as fabulous works of art in offices, homes and gardens.

The Goodwood Festival of Speed
s far more than just a hillclimb: it can justifiably claim to be the world’s biggest and most diverse celebration of the history of motor sport and car culture. Devizes Beer Fest

Heddington & Stockley Steam Rally
The Rally has been an annual event for the past 33 years, with a few exceptions. It is one of the biggest steam rallies in the area, attracting exhibitors and visitors, who enjoy our friendly and relaxed rally. Exhibits include vintage traction engines in full steam, miniature steam, stationary engines, tractors, classic cars, motor cycles and bygones. There is also a large display of military and commercial vehicles. The craft tent houses a display of models, in addition to Craft and Giftware. A large trade stand section provides a variety of goods.

The Cotswold Show
The Cotswold Show successfully combines town and country pursuits to create a glorious medley of fun activities and displays. From the mighty Monster Truck, Big Pete and the dynamic Royal Logistic Corps’ Sky–Diving, to broomstick training with the Harry Potter roadshow, the national gundog weekend, horse whispering, craft stalls, and traditional children’s entertainment, it’s a great day out for all ages.

Bath Festival of Food
The Bath Food & Drink Festival is coming to Bath in 2010 with a line up of the most tantalising food and beverage producers in the country. With more than 130 local and regional exhibitors showing a vast array of products, drinks and quality foods at The Royal Victoria Park, the two day event promises visitors a display of cuisine delights, with producers tantalising the taste buds of the public. Leading local chefs will be showcasing local and regional produce in the Food Lovers Kitchen, along with a Wine Theatre showcasing the finest English and International wine, with leading wine makers, writers and industry experts sharing their knowledge to an enthusiastic crowd.

RNAS Yeovilton International Air Day
Celebrating RNAS 70th Anniversary An extensive flying and static display will take place to mark this significant milestone with rare naval aircraft such as the Swordfish, Sea Fury, Seafire and Sea Vixen, coming together with other vintage aircraft, historic warbirds and classic jets to evoke nostalgic memories of a century of Fleet Air Arm aviation. Their modern counterparts such as the iconic Harrier and resident Lynx and Sea King squadrons will also demonstrate their capabilities currently used extensively around the world.

Dragon Boat Racing
Dragon Boat Race teams compete in 40 foot long boats decorated with a dragon's head and tail in a series of sprint races over a 250m course to have fun and raise money for charities, and the fastest teams battle it out in a grand final race. Boats, paddles, bouancy aids, helmsmen, and tuition, are all provided. It's a lot of fun and most teams that took part in 2009 have booked again for 2010. Food and drink will be available and a beer/Pimms tent licence has been granted. Visit the web link for further information if you want to enter a team (prior booking essential) or just come along on the day and spectate (free entry for spectators). Teams consist of 17 persons (16 paddlers plus a drummer), but 20 person team squads are ecommended. Dragon Boat racing is an ancient Chinese tradition over 2000 years old and is one of Britain's most competitive water sports. It's a great way to raise money and it's spectacular, colourful, exciting and fun!

Tewkesbury Medieval Festival
Already hailed as Europe's biggest and most spectacular medieval event, Tewkesbury Medieval Festival is planning to make its 26th anniversary bigger and better than ever. The Battle of Tewkesbury in the War of the Roses 1471. There will be the usual battle featuring around 2000 knights, archers and men at arms, a colourful and authentic living history camp with families living in complete medieval style for the whole weekend, and a fascinating market selling everything from medieval pots and authentic costumes to toys and individual jewellery. But this year plans are also in hand for a joust with knights on horseback meeting in combat, a huge street procession, entertainment both on the fair site and throughout the town and much, much more.

The Bog Triathlon
irst ran in 2005, following a demand for more dirty fun around our famous Waen Rhydd Bog. The event – the most unusual in the Triathlon calendar starts with a 7.5 mile (6mile for juniors) run followed by 2 lengths of the 60 yard peat bog trench and then a 19 mile (12 miles for juniors) mountain cycle. 10:00 start

Barbury Castle Horse Trials will this year be hosting the Wiltshire County Show on Sunday July 11. The Show's aim will be to demonstrate the vital role that farming and food production play in Wiltshire and the wider community. World Mountain Bike Bog Snorkelling Championships
A unique, wacky and physically challenging, event! The idea is to cycle along the bottom of a 6ft deep peat bog wearing a mask and snorkel and get back in the quickest time! The bike used is specially prepared with a lead filled frame and water filled tyres to ensure grip on the pond bottom. The snorkeller/cyclist wears a lead weight belt to avoid floating off the bike! Scuba Drivers are on hand for safety purposes.

The Royal International Air Tattoo

The Diamond Anniversary Meeting
