Seven Bore
From the Atlantic Ocean, a tide enters the Bristol Channel, forcing its way up the Severn Estuary causing the bore of up to 15 metres high over a distance of around 25 miles between Awre and Gloucester. Surfers come from all over to experience this famous event. It is one of only three surfable tidal waves in the world. You can catch a glimpse of the Severn Bore at numerous locations along the River Severn, but the best vantage points are located at

Bath Literary Festival
The Bath Literature Festival specializes in topical debate and one–off events featuring writers from the worlds of fiction, journalism, scientists, naturalists, historians, illustrators, children’s authors and biographers. Bath Half Marathon
Now in its 29th year, the Bath Half Marathon is one of the longest established and most popular mass–participation city centre road races in the UK attracting 15,000 entries amp; 30,000 spectators, voted by the Daily Telegraph as the ‘3rd best running event’ in their Top 10 big runs. Quilt Exhibition – American Museum
The museum’s collection of 240 American quilts is acclaimed as the finest of its type in Europe and the equal of many premier collections in the United States. Ranging from the 18th to early 20th centuries, these exuberant works of art and craft are visually bold, technically assured and often proudly patriotic.
