“The Italian Job Tour” – Driving the Roman roads

Alfa GTV To complement our two Italian sports classics this scenic drive has a Latin theme taking in the abundance of important Roman sites and hidden Italian delights that abound in Wiltshire and surrounding counties.

Iford manor Commence with a visit to Iford Manor, home to the stunning Italian Peto Gardens, stop and admire Corinium (Cirencester) with it’s Roman Amphitheatre one of the largest amphitheatres known from Roman Britain then meander along the Roman Fosse Way to Chedworth Roman Villa with it’s intricate mosaics. Continue to Great Witcombe Roman Villa before travelling into the Forest of Dean to visit Lydney Park Temple. Cross the border into Wales and call in to view the largely unmolested Roman remains at Caerwent then on to National Roman Legion Museum at Caerleon which was one of only three permanent fortresses in Roman Britain. Cross back into England over the river Severn calling at Bath for, without a doubt, the best Roman site in England.
