Vintage Classics – Vintage and Classic Car Hire

Classic car Wish List

What car would you like to hire?

Is there a car you would like to hire because you used to own one and you want a trip down memory lane or is there a car that you always wanted but the mortgage, wife and kids prevented you from realising your dream? Or maybe you have a childhood memory of a car you parents used to own.

My first car was a 1959 Austin Healey Sprite Mk I or as it is commonly known a Frogeye Sprite. I would love to re-live my early driving experiences by driving a Frogeye for a day. I was never a fan of Ford’s but now I would like to try an early Capri. My Father used to own a Rover 14 and is one of my earliest memories of a car and I would love to be able to drive one.

What would you like, have a look at the following list to see if any of the cars brings back memories.

Obviously the car would have to fall into the category of Veteran, Vintage or Classic. A Veteran is a car produced before 1919, a Vintage car would be one manufactured between 1919 and officially 1930 but normally up to 1945. As for the definition of classic there does not appear to be one. Historically you can see the trend, starting with veteran followed by Vintage both based on year ranges before arriving at Classic to cover the remaining cars. This was fine when the term was first being used the trouble now is that as time has moved on there is no firm rule to determine the status of Classic. No one would question that the E-Type is a classic what about a Ford XR3?

To make life easier we are going to define a Classic car as being at least 25 years old.

So there you have it, let me know what you would like to hire and when funds allow instead of buying a car of my choice I will see check the responses for the most popular choice.

There are no prizes but please e-mail your choice(s) to me, include your name because if we buy your choice we may give you a small discount.
